Happy December everyone!
This newsletter is a quick reminder of what we’ve got going on for the month of December.
Our lesson of the month is focused on physical fitness. While fitness is a crucial part of our training, it is also important to remember that it impacts all areas of our life.
Research suggests that increased physical activity, can improve overall mental health by people across their lifespan. Engaging in regular physical activity has also been shown to reduce the risk of developing depression in children and adults. The human body was design to move and works best when it’s active daily. Without physical activity to promote an overall healthier lifestyle, it can increase the risk of heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and type 2 diabetes. Physical fitness can be broken down into five simple components. (1) body composition, (2) flexibility, (3) muscular strength, (4) muscular endurance, and (5) cardio-respiratory endurance.
Obviously Martial Arts training can have a positive impact in these five physical fitness components. Not only in adults but for a child’s overall fitness levels as well. The lesson material covered in classes will not only challenge them mentally but also provide healthy balance of physical activity. With just 15 minutes of additional training a few times a week, your child can enhance the their training and improve more quickly while maintaining a great level of physical activity.
